Courts Refuse To Take Up Sania Case As Two Families Fight For Her Custody State
Hyderabad: Sania's custody case witnessed a quick development of twists as Ranga Reddy district family court saying it's not under its jurisdiction, just hours after Rajendranagar court referred the custody case to the RR district family court, which said it'll come under the court, under which jurisdiction the incident occurred.
The child is taken back to the government rescue home and she will be handed over to either paternal grandparents in city or maternal uncle from Congo only after the court decides the matter. However, the girl wants to live with her paternal grandparents in city.
Eight-year-old Sania's future is at crossroads as her maternal relatives from Cango are demanding the Hyderabad Police to hand the girl over to them, while paternal grandparents want to take care of her. Rajendranagar court on Fridaymorning referred the caretaking issue to Ranga Reddy family court.
Sania is the daughter of Rupesh Kumar Mohanani, 36, and Congo national Cynthia Vechel, who was murdered brutally by her husband on July 6. Mohanani was arrested for allegedly throttling his wife Cynthia Vechel and then chopping her body into pieces and setting them ablaze.
After the incident, Sania had been staying with grand mother Leelavathi and later shifted to rescue home. Sania was on Friday produced before the court. Police was advised to refer the case to Ranga Reddy district family court.
Cynthia's brothers and relatives have been staging dharna in front of Police Station in Rejendra Nagar demanding for punishing Mohanani for the past two days. Police on Thursday brought Sania to Rajendra Nagar Police Station.
