Nevada Gov Hopes To Attract More Indian Tourists Business
Washington: The US state of Nevada, known for its casinos and entertainment, hopes to attract more Indian tourists after opening a new tourism office in New Delhi, a top State official has said.
“I'm deeply honoured by the hospitality that was shown to me by the wonderful people of India, and even more excited about their desire to travel to Nevada”, Lieutenant Governor of Nevada Mark Hutchison said after returning from India.
Hutchison travelled to New Delhi on January 25 to open the new TravelNevada office, which intends to promote more travel and tourism to the state. “After my experiences in India, the wisdom in opening a new TravelNevada office there is clear”, he said. “The people are warm, engaging, and excited to learn more about the many tourist destinations and entertainment options in the Silver State, and they are eager to travel here”, Hutchison said.
With India considered one of the fastest growing economies in the world, Nevada hopes to tap into its roughly 1.2 billion people. Of the population, roughly 65 per cent are under 35 years old, 50 million hold passports and 14 per cent have grown their disposable income in the past three years.
